Parents, In order to smooth our students’ transitions to the tablets and to also address tablet issues, the Carroll Magnet Middle school website now has a link to be filled out for tablet issues. Students will be called down to the Technology help center in the Media Center within three to five school days after filling out the tablet issue’s form. We are continuing to ask for patience during this process, because tablets that have cracked screens and other major malfunctions will need to be sent off to Verizon for repair. This process of repair could take up to three weeks. In addition, this coming Thursday April 9, 2015 at 8am Carroll Technology staff will be doing compliance checks starting in eighth grade classrooms. If your student’s tablets are found to be out of compliance they will be taken up and placed back on our management system within five school days. Also, this will be documented in our discipline system in order to help any further or future student technology infractions. Carroll families, EOGs are rapidly approaching. This year our testing time will be May 18-21. Please make sure that your child is taking advantage of every opportunity to be successful on our state mandated assessments. This week and next they are participating in our last CASE 21 and benchmark assessments. The scores from the benchmarks will provide you with information on how well your child is projected to do on their EOGs. Please make sure that they are working hard and participating in all of the tutoring and assistance available to them to do well. We also need volunteers to help us proctor the exams in May. If you have not already registered as a volunteer and or would like to assist us in testing, please contact Ms. Stanley at our front desk. This Tuesday, April 7th form 6:30-8:00 is our annual Talent Show. Tickets will be sold before school tomorrow. Students must be accompanied by an adult if they wish to view the performance. 8th grade parents, please remember to sign your child's high school registration sheet and return immediately. All registration will be completed by April 10th. If you do not turn in your registration by that date, you are subject to not getting the classes you wish when you have to register later at the high school. That's all for now! Gooooooo Cougars! |
