Carroll Leadership in Technology Magnet Middle School |
Good morning Carroll Cougars! This is your principal Ms. Keech with this week's announcements. A copy of this transcript will be shared through the Carroll Yahoo Email Group and will be posted on the Carroll Website.
Cougar families we had a great start to our spirit week. Many of our students were dressed in pink on Monday for Breast Cancer Awareness and I saw a lot of super heroes today. Tomorrow is Unity Day in which we make the first steps towards "crushing bullying" by wearing Orange and signing our "Stamp out Bullying" poster. Thursday is Twin day and Friday is School Pride day in which everyone will wear their school colors or spirit wear. Wednesday is also our last home football game so make sure that you come out and support all of our wonderful student athletes. We are also having a canned food drive and if you bring your canned food item to the game you will get into the game on a discount. Our Football and Soccer Teams are in competition for who can collect the most canned goods so if you also want to save your item for next week's home Soccer game you can. Soccer and Volleyball will be at home next week. On Friday, we will be conducting our first School Dance of the Year from 2:30-5:30. Please make sure that your child has a ride by 5:30. Any late pick-ups are subject to not being able to attend the next dance. Please also remember that any student with an OSS or an ISS will not be allowed to attend. Parents, you should have already received a flyer about our PTA school "No Fuss Fundraiser" this year. We call this "No Fuss" because you don't have to sell anything. Please help our Carroll community by making your donation today. Donations will be used to replenish technology necessary for our students. Calling all volunteers! Please remember that you must register by October 31st to volunteer. After that the system will only be available for registration on Mondays. If you registered last year, you will still need to reactivate. Carroll families, we work very hard to make sure that all students are safe everyday. The procedures and practices that we have put in place are for the safety of your child and the adults on campus who work with your children. They have not been put in place to inconvenience you. We have designed a carpool procedure with WCPSS security and the Raleigh PDs input and have been referred to as "the best carpool in the city" by Raleigh PD. However, some you continue to ignore those procedures (parking in the Bank- which is private property and you are trespassing subject to tow and allowing your child to "jaywalk", parking on the side of the street and allowing your child to get out on the street impeding street traffic, turning left at the no left turn and cones, and destroying the cones that we have put in the street to help guide you). Our carpool lines are only lasting 10-15 minutes at the most when used efficiently by our families. Please set a good example for your child (avoid a citation) and follow the rules that we have put in place for safety and efficiency. That's all for now! Gooooooo Cougars!
