Carroll Leadership in Technology Magnet Middle School |
Good afternoon Carroll Cougar Leaders! This is your principal Ms. Keech with this week's announcements. A copy of this transcript will be shared through our Carroll Yahoo email group and posted on our website under Keech's Corner.
What a fantastic first day! We saw lots of smiling faces and excitement today. It was clear that this is going to be a great year for learning. Please remind your students that tomorrow is a B day but all students will be going to their first period A day class for 10 minutes before we dismiss to a B day. This will only affect 7th and 8th grade students. 6th graders will go to their 1st period elective. Carroll sports start this week- football on Tuesday, women's soccer on Wednesday, volleyball on Thursday and cheerleading next week. You must have a completed sports packet on file to try out. Forms are in student services or on the Carroll website. See your Coach or Athletic Director if you have questions. We want to remind of our families who have bus riders if they wish to know their child's bus stop, go to the wcpss.net web site, select "transportation," select "bus routes", scroll down to "Carroll Middle School," and find the stop closest to their house. Route start times are also there. If you cannot find a suitable stop, scrollup, select, "contact transportation," and complete the appropriate request form. Information on that page will also tell you how long your request will take to be answered. Parents who are using our car-pool, please review our car-pool procedures sent to your this summer in our summer mailer or go to our car-pool information page located on our website. It is very important that you review our route information so that you know where the car-pool line starts. Please also note that RPD has been requested to be out to help our parents and community abide by all traffic laws. If you follow our procedures put in place for safety and efficiency, you will find that our line moves very quickly. Please also note that if you park across the street and allow your child to cross the street illegally you are subject to having your car towed and your child/yourself also fined for jaywalking or worse cause an accident. PLEASE FOLLOW THE CAR-POOL PROCEDURES outlined for you. Carroll Families please also make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for school. If you are unsure about dress code, please review the mailer that was sent to you this summer or go on-line to our website for dress code. Students who are not dressed appropriately will be asked to change into appropriate clothing and their parent will be called (possibly to bring them changes of clothing if they do not have it with them). We also wish to remind all of our rising 6th grade families to make sure that they have gotten all of their immunization records and an updated TDAP turned in. That's all for now. Goooooooo Cougars!
