Good Evening Carroll Cougars! This is your principal , Ms. Keech with a special announcement. A copy of this transcript will be shared through the Carroll Yahoo Email Group. As many of you are already aware, there is a possibility of us getting some snow tonight. Please monitor your local weather/news stations for school closings or delays. You may also go to the district website for closing/delay information. If we are on a 1 hour or 2 hours delay schedule, that will mean that your child will go to school 1 hour or 2 hours later than they normally do (for example, if your child is normally picked up by the bus at 6:30 -on a 2 hour delay they would be picked up at 8:30). Please remember to not drop your child off at their normal arrival time if we are on a delay because there will not be anyone there to supervise them.
That's all for now. Stay safe and Goooooo Cougars! Good Afternoon Carroll Cougars! This is your principal, Ms. Keech with this week’s announcements. A copy of this transcript will be shared through the Carroll Yahoo email group.
Carroll Families, your child should have brought home to you last week an information packet which contained your child’s initial notice of school assignment. This notice grandfathers students at their current schools with their current transportation (unless assigned to a new school) and assigns rising 6th and 9th graders to their base schools. Students who are not currently attending their base school may request to be assigned there by today Jan. 14th. The magnet application period begins today (Jan. 14th)and runs through Jan. 25th. Please go to www.wcpss.net/preview to view a list of your base schools assigned to your residential address. Frequently asked questions may also be found on www.wcpss.net/assignment-faqs 8th graders who have submitted an application for one or more of the Early College High School or Young Men’s or Women’s Leadership programs, must also complete the online magnet application during the magnet application period of Jan. 14th-Jan.25th. Parents please do not forget that we will not have school on Jan.21st due to celebrating the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. We will also not have school on Jan.22nd due to our Teacher Workday. Please continue to monitor SPAN for your child’s attendance, grades and discipline. And, continue to remind your children to leave their headphones, cell phones and etc at home or up in the off position while on our campus. We have a lot of important events coming up so please make sure that you continue to monitor our Google calendar on our web page. That’s all for now! Goooooo Cougars! Good Evening Carroll Cougars! Carroll Families, you will be receiving an envelope tomorrow that will contain information about your child's school assignment for next school year. Please make sure that you review it and pay attention to the deadlines. Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School is hosting an OPen House this Thursday evening from 6-8. Please go and see their offerings in Technology, Engineering and Leadership. Parents we will have a PTA meeting following our Basketball games against Daniels this Thursday night. The games will begin by 4:00pm and our PTA meeting will start at 6:30. Hope to see you there. Parents please also remind your students to always be on time to class. We will be implementing a new tardy procedure this week to help encourage our students to always be on time to their classes. Stressing to them the importance of arriving in class, on time and prepared will help us in this matter. Many of our students got some really awesome electronics over the holidays. Please remind them of our no-electronics policy and to keep the headphones, ipods, phones and etc. off and out of sight or up in their lockers or at home. Remember to continue to monitor SPAN, especially as we come to the end of second quarter. That's all for now. Gooooooo Cougars! |
