It looks like we are going to get a little weather again this week. Please make sure that you monitor media outlets for announcements pertaining to district closures, delays and early releases. We have been asked by system leadership to limit our site based all-calls pertaining to weather as it hinders the districts all-call system. If you would like to be on WCPSS' email list for emergency notifications please go to http://www.wcpss.net/parents/inclement-weather.html This Thursday , February 13th at 5:30 we will be conducting a program called "High School on the Horizon". This program is specifically for 8th grade parents wanting to learn more about what is coming their way as their child enters high school. Please see our website for additional details pertaining to this program. Also, our Honor Roll recognition program has been re-scheduled to this Thursday, February 13th with 7th grade at 7:45, 6th grade at 8:30 and 7th grade at 9:15. Cougar Families don't forget that this Friday, Feb. 14th is our Early Release day. Students will be dismissed at 11:45. This day is for staff development therefore, our teachers will not be available for meetings or conferences. Spring sports tryouts also begin this week. Please check our website or call our front office for further details. Car pool parents, I am again making the plea that you please follow car pool procedures. This is for the safety of your children as well as to maintain all city traffic pattern policies, laws and procedures. Contrary to what you may think, we have not done this to inconvenience you. We have consulted with RPD, Wake County and the city to develop the best carpool procedure possible but it takes you to follow it in order for it to work. Please go to our website for further car pool procedure details and maps. Please continue to check our Google Calendar found on the front page of our website for upcoming events and activities. That's all for now. Goooooooo Cougars! Good afternoon Carroll Cougar Leaders! This is your principal, Ms. Keech with this weeks announcements. I know that many of you are very excited to be back in school this week after our snow days. As a reminder to our Cougar families, the school site does not send out all-calls to parents about the opening or closing of school due to the amount of traffic on the automatic calls and email systems. However, our district does send out automatic messages to all parents who have registered to be a part of the notification system. To sign up you may go to http://www.wcpss.net/parents/stay-informed.html Parents, your children came home with their report cards today. Please review and discuss their progress with them. If you have any questions, concerns or need to schedule an individual conference with a teacher, please contact the teacher directly or your child's grade level counselor. Please note that our athletics scheduled has changed this week and is as follows: Away game today at North Garner, Wednesday games will be at Carroll and Thursday's game will also be at Carroll. The Honor Roll recognition ceremony has also been rescheduled from this Thursday to next Thursday, February 13th. 8th grade will be recognized at 7:45, 6th grade will be at 8:30 and 7th grade will be at 9:15. Carroll Families, this is a big week. We will be having a spirit week this week culminating with the HUGE Parents vs Staff Basketball Game on Friday. Tomorrow will be pajama day (please follow dress code), Wednesday will be Blast From the Past, Thursday is Wacky Tacky and Friday is School Spirit. Students who dress up each day and show the most school spirit will receive a prize. Parents we hope to see all of our Carroll Families Friday night. Chick-Fil-A pre-order forms will come home this week for Friday night. That's all for now! Goooooooo Cougars! |
