We hope everyone had a wonderful fall break. And speaking of our break, Are you tired of Turkey? If so, we are having our PTA Carroll dine out night tonight at Milton’s Pizza and Pasta. Some come on down and enjoy some delicious pizza, pasta or sandwiches either dining in or taking out. Make sure you mention Carroll. The Wake County Public School system is conducting a short (5 min) confidential survey of athletic interests in our high schools. We encourage 8th grade students to provide their input on current athletic offerings and what we might offer in the future. You do not need to be a current participant in athletics to respond. To access the survey, go to our school’s website and click on WCPSS Sports Interest Survey. Please respond by Dec. 21st. Wednesday night , Nov. 28th, we will be conducting our ESL parent night from 6:30- 8:00. We hope we will see all of our ESL parents there. (translators will be provided) Carroll Families, please do not forget that we are having our CCC recognition this Friday, Nov. 30th in our Cafeteria at 7:45. Please remember to keep checking SPAN for updated grades, attendance and discipline. That’s all for now . Gooooooo Cougars!

Parents don’t forget that this Wednesday, October 31st is a teacher workday and that there will not be any school for students. Our teachers will be in staff development that day. Parents in order to decrease classroom disruptions and to help our students use every bit of time possible for instruction, we are implementing the “10-10” rule. Students will not be allowed out of their class during the first 10 minutes of class and they will not be allowed out the last 10 minutes of class. We let the students know last week and gave them three days to get used to the new procedure before implementing it today. We hope that you will continue to support us and our focus on education. All Lost and Found items will be donated to Good Will on Friday, November 2nd if unclaimed. Please have your child check Lost and Found for any item missing during their morning arrival, CAT and dismissal. They will not be allowed to check during instructional time. Don’t forget the Magnet Schools Fair this Saturday, November 3rd at Southeast Raleigh High School from 9:00am-12:00pm. We look forward to seeing you at the Carroll Leadership and Technology Magnet Middle Booth. Parents don’t forget that we are still conducting our PTA “NO FUSS FUNDRAISER”. Your child should be coming home with a letter this week with more information on how you can help Carroll Middle and your child get even more access to technology as well as all of the other great things our PTA fundraising helps to support. Make a difference today. Parents of 8th graders, there will be several information sessions in the next week for magnet high school and for early college high schools (please see our website for dates and times). Next Tuesday evening, Nov.6th from 7-9pm is the Early College Leadership Academy Fair for rising freshman. Four early college high schools will be represented, It will be held at the Governor Morehead School in Raleigh. Please see our website for additional information pertaining to the Triangle Dance Marathon, its coming soon. Parents please review procedures for carpool and for checking your child out. Our procedures have been put into place for your safety as well as for your child. If you need a copy of our procedures, we will be happy to provide you with one. Thank you in advance for your support as we continue to provide a safe environment at Carroll. That’s all for now. Goooooooo Cougars! |
